In this hands-on workshop, participants will build 6” round double petal chrysanthemum shells. Using the traditional Japanese method, the inner petal will be formed with only black powder-coated rice hulls and tissue paper. It is expected that participants have some shell-building experience beforehand. The 5” Ball Shell workshop, for instance, would provide an excellent background.
This workshop is being offered twice at Western WinterBlast 2026, in two groups of 10 each. This is Group 2. Participants need to also attend the Lift and Leader Workshop on Friday to complete their shells.
