Member Showcase

Would you like a chance to show what you've been working on? The Member Showcase is on Saturday evening. All experience levels are welcome in this non-competitive show: it's the best way to get the product you toiled over for days into the air under dark skies, where everyone can appreciate it. The Showcase is for member-built fireworks only.

How It Works

We start when it's dark enough, about 7:30 PM, and it usually runs about 20 minutes. If there are daytime effects such as smoke shells we may start earlier, then pause so the sky can darken for the rest. We're flexible.

How to enter

  1. Enter each item onlineOne entry per shell, rocket or device. Tell us what it is and what the crowd should watch for: the announcer reads it out.
  2. Get your codeEach entry gets a code like S-123, on screen and by email. From the entry's page you can change it or withdraw it until Saturday, September 26, 10:00 AM.
  3. Label it and get it readyWrite the code and your name large on the item. Complete and ready to load, with a leader or drop rope. No visco: it's electrically fired.
  4. Deliver it by Saturday, September 26, 10:00 AMTo the manufacturing day box, in a box marked “Showcase”. Rockets and other devices need approval first.

Rules and Procedures

What you need to know

  • Up to 2 items, built by you. No shell-of-shells from bought shells and no purchased rocket motors.
  • Get it approved by Friday, September 25, 12:00 PM. Rockets by the Manufacturing Chair; everything else by the Safety Chair, who'll tell you how to fuse it.
  • Deliver it ready to fire by Saturday, September 26, 10:00 AM. Complete, e-matched (no visco), with a leader, and labeled large with your S-number and name, in the manufacturing day box marked “Showcase”.
  • Late or incomplete items may not be fired. Change your mind? Withdraw from your entry's page; it's easy.
